The Vincentian Housing Partnership –Rendu apartments – a transitional housing project for homeless people was set up in 1995 and is a collaborative partnership between the Daughters of Charity, the Vincentian Fathers and the Society of St Vincent de Paul. The building is situated in North William Street, Dublin 1. There are 19 apartments offering accommodation to one parent families, couples and single people. Each resident has a self contained apartment fully furnished and en-suite. The maximum length of stay is eighteen months.

Our Mission is to provide a welcoming high quality transitional housing programme to people who are homeless and enable them to move to and successfully remain in independent living.

Funding is made available by the HSE and Dublin City Council and we also receive donations and organise fund raising events.

We have a small full time staff who work directly with the residents and are also blessed with a strong team of volunteers who give of their time and talents to support the residents. The areas volunteers become involved in are:-

Reception & Hospitality (meeting and greeting staff, volunteers, visitors and residents-answering phones, taking messages, dealing with sign-in-procedures, and other general duties).

Fundraising – The Committee meets on a monthly basis and help to raise funds and the profile of the organisation

Counselling – Some of our volunteers are qualified counsellors and meet with clients on a one to one basis.

Volunteers are also involved in giving computer and literacy lessons, teaching residents to cook, and providing alternative therapies and music.

Support, training, advice and supervision is available to all volunteers.

Without the assistance of volunteers we would be unable to provide the high standard of service to the residents of Rendu and volunteers, in return, find the experience rewarding and joyful.
