Dear Leanne,
Almost everything in life involves negotiation - of some
sort!
Many people approach negotiation in business with strong
feelings of anxiety and trepidation. Yet, we are faced and
succeed with multitudes of negotiation ‘dilemmas every day.
Examples include: managing your boss; dealing with the
‘difficult client, agreeing copy with the printers; etc.
The good news is that negotiation in business is
something we can learn. In this presentation, Carmel
Buttimer will show how different approaches can assist in
planning and undertaking different kinds of negotiation
situations. By the end of the presentation and discussion, you
should take with you some principles which should assist you
in your work and indeed in your life!
Carmel Buttimer is MD of Preview, a management consultancy
firm that has substantial focus on teaching, training, and
coaching for companies in Ireland and abroad, and in
particular, the European Institutions in Brussels. Her work
also includes training and facilitating SME's in their first 5
years in Dublin. This includes working on their staff
management, negotiation and communication skills and personal
effectiveness.
