Personal Effectiveness, with Mary O'Driscoll

We are delighted at the response to the final ‘My Work’ event for 2006 which was all about Personal Effectiveness with Mary O’Driscoll from Arrivas Training & Development. It was the largest attendance for a ‘My Work’ event this year.
Mary explained the four different types of personalities and the language they use. She explained that by incorporating the language of another personality type when communicating with others, we are in simple terms, ‘speaking their language’! Simple eh?

The workshop was interactive, great fun and challenged us all! Mary truly connected with all who attended the presentation and made us all re-think our communication styles.

October’s Spotlight On saw Pamela Fay from Business Performace Perspectives take us thorugh do’s and don’t of Business Etiquette.

Pamela explained that the following were good rules to live by:

• Ensure that the tone of your conversation is positive
• Make good eye contact
• Ensure that your verbal and non verbal messages say the same thing
• Do not swear
• If you start with positive intent, you are well on the journey!
