Nutrition for the Working Woman, Roisin O'Kelly, Breath of Life Clinic

February's event which took place in the Burlington Hotel was a very informative talk on nutrition and what we should be eating by Roisin O'Kelly of Breath of Life Clinic in Portmarnock.

Roisin's practical tips on foods to include in our diets will ensure that all who attended will look and feel great as we enter the spring. The healthy theme was carried over in the canape's, fresh juices were available, as well as wine. The room was filled with new and old members, as well as a healthy number of visitors who all seemed to be enjoying themselves.

Roisin's top tips may be summarised as follows:

  • Have a glass of water first thing in the morning and a piece of fruit (pears are good because they are cleansing). Then have porridge or good quality muesli to ensure a good start to the day.
  • Try to have a big salad at least 3 times a week. Add tuna or other oily fish to your salad to ensure you're getting enough oils. Homemade soups are good too.
  • Dinner shouldn't be eaten too late and try to make the effort to cook something. It only takes 15 mins to cook up a healthy stir fry or to roast some veggies.
  • Water, sleep, and exercise are also highly recommended!

You can contact Roisin on (01) 846 0942 for a Naturopathy consultation.
